How to prepare easy and authentic Ghana beef sauce

To prepare your easy and authentic Ghana beef sauce, start by washing all your vegetables. Get a bowl of water and add a tablespoon of white vinegar to it. Wash your vegetables under running water and after that put them in the bowl with the water and vinegar.

Now move on to your beef. Wash your beef well and them slice them into smaller pieces. The smaller they are the faster they will cook but don’t cut them too small or they will burn when you fry them. Once your beef is cut into your preferred sizes, marinate them in cornstarch and soy sauce. I like to sprinkle some black pepper on the marinate.

Now that your beef is marinating, it’s time to start cutting your vegetables. Chop all your vegetables in your prefered shapes and sizes.

Now for the ginger and garlic, you need to blend them, unless you are using ginger powder and garlic powder. But I prefer to use fresh ginger and garlic and blend them with some onions. Once all these are ready, it’s time to start cooking.

Now get your large frying pan or large deep skillet and put it on medium heat. Once your pan or skillet is hot enough, pour in a tablespoon of your cooking oil. I like to start with the vegetables before I do the meat.

Now moving on to the beef, pour in two tablespoons of cooking oil and let it heat up. Add in your beef and stir fry them. Remember, this is not deep frying, so you are not using a lot of oil, just about two tablespoons of oil is enough to stir fry your beef.

If the beef is a lot, don’t put all in at once, stir fry half of it and when those are done, pour them on a plate and stir fry the other half.

If you do not have brown sugar, you can use honey instead. Add in a teaspoon of salt and pepper and let it cook for some time. I found that doing this makes the beef soft and tender.

Now pour in your stir fried vegetables and taste to see if the salt and pepper are to your liking. You can add some more salt and pepper to your desire and heat through. Your easy and authentic Ghana beef sauce is ready. Sprinkle some spring onions on it and serve.
