Sadly, there isn’t a trick for becoming instantly infinitely happy, it’s something you will have to work on every day to achieve. Below are a few of the ways you can encourage happiness in the pursuit to become a happier you regularly.

3 ways to be happier everyday

Positive Thinking

Making a conscious effort to be happy, is partially about tailoring and challenging your thoughts consistently to protect you, to let the good thoughts/ideas in and to let the bad ones go. By bad thoughts, this is things like negative self-talk, paranoia, and situations you can’t control. This doesn’t mean all views that are not entirely positive are not important though.

For instance, if you have negative thoughts when you’re spending time with someone who criticizes you, this is positive as it tells you this person isn’t a good friend for you to have around. So be careful and selective when you’re cherry-picking thoughts in your quest for happiness.

Meditation

There are times you might relish the rally of thoughts that bombard your brain in the morning and at night. Thinking about all the stuff you need to do may make you feel busy, give you purpose and make you feel important. There are other occasions however that your thoughts are purely negative and spiraling, consistently affecting your desire to be happy.

If this happens to you, you could try meditation as a healthy form of clearing your mind and shushing intrusive negative thoughts to allow you to step back, take a breather and be happy even if this is just for a short period.

Moderation

To sustain a balance of being happy and content moderation is vital for every aspect of your life. For example, a boozy dancing night out may make you happy at the time. But the next day you’re bound to feel exhausted and a little deflated.

In scenarios such as these, you may want to think about how you’ll feel the next day and tone down the drinking or switch it up with water in between to keep you hydrated. This is to refrain from robbing yourself of happiness the following day when it could have been prevented.

Moderation can be applied to all areas of life, such as moderating the levels you smoke, or switching what you smoke for something less damaging to your health. For example, products such as cheap e liquid used for vaping.

The above are just a few samples of a lot of the ways you can attempt to encourage happiness in your daily life. Other forms include a healthy diet, exercising, socializing and basking in your passions and hobbies.

Making an effort to be joyful is excellent. However, keep in mind feeling other emotions is healthy for you too. If you’ve ever watched the film Inside Out, it gives you examples of how an array of emotions are important for developing as a person.

I try very hard to keep a positive outlook. My life is very blessed so it seems silly to complain, yet we all do at times.
I need to get into meditation more…that’s one of my year goals.
