Give Yourself Some Time

If you’re planning to clean your entire home on your one day off from work, then you need to think again. This isn’t nearly enough time to tackle the entire house, and you’re either going to leave jobs half done or forget them completely. If you want to be a bit more realistic, you should give yourself three or four days at the very least, and complete a whole room each day. Of course, you may get the job done slightly quicker or slower than this, depending on the size of your home, so plan thoroughly to give yourself a rough idea of how long everything will take.

Choose Your Weapons

Before you start cleaning, it’s important that you have all of the cleaning tools and products that you need to get all of your jobs done. You can figure out what you need each day by making a list of the areas of your home you want to focus on and the jobs that you need to complete within these areas. If you forget something, you’re going to have to stop working to go and buy it, which is going to completely break your flow, so it makes much more sense to be prepared.

Start With The Clutter

There is no point in try to clean when you have a load of junk and clutter lying about the place, so the first thing that you should do is decide what’s rubbish and what’s not and separate everything into piles. Once you’ve done this, you can bag up all of the junk, and get a company like Dirt Cheap Rubbish Removal to take it off your hands. Of course, you could take it to the rubbish dump yourself, but this will waste time that you don’t really have.

Get Some Help

Cleaning on your own is boring and takes a lot of time, but with a friend, it’s much more entertaining and can be done a whole lot faster. Because of this, it makes sense to ask a friend or family member to help you on one of your cleaning days, rather than trying to get everything done yourself. Just be prepared that they could ask you to return the favour with their own home in the future.

Deep cleaning your home can be a long-winded and boring task, but it doesn’t have to be. If you follow the advice above, you should be able to get the work done a whole lot quicker.

Getting rid of clutter is SUCH a good way to start a new season! It’s crazy how much STUFF we all have. Ben and I love putting together boxes of things we don’t need or wear, and donating them. It helps us free up space, learn to live with less, and give to others in need.
    Spring cleaning is here!
