Becoming Empowered Is More Than An Instagram Post

personal empowerment

It can be easy to feel a rush of inspiration from time to time, especially when reading our social media feeds. Not that there’s anything wrong with social media, provided you know how to use it, but sometimes, this can be a problem.

We can start to rely on the postings of certain pages to help us keep at our work, or we might find that we only seek empowerment when someone we follow inspires us to do so.

Again, there’s nothing particularly wrong with this. But it can lead us to rely on those who we follow, instead of trying to find our own truth and develop a better sense of who we are.

In other words, that fleeting sense of inspiration needs to be converted to something practical, something that still has worth after closing your app.

Becoming empowered is more than an Instagram post. It can be a way of life, especially for those who might finally be taking that step out to achieve something great. If this sounds like you, then we have admiration for you. Let us see how you might progress from there:

How To Be Self Empowered

1. Empower Your Health

We can often think that empowerment solely comes from an attitude, but it’s not always like that. Having the guts to apply what you know is true can help you avoid the shifting tides of the social sphere from affecting you.

Perhaps you’re tired of the after-work cocktails and want to do something a little more constructive, or maybe you simply wish to eat more healthily despite also enjoying eating out.

Empowering your health through researching supplements and ginseng prices, learning how to meditate, cutting out alcohol as much as you can and relaxing to a certain extent can be a great idea when empowering your health.

The best thing you can ever do to increase your confidence and natural energy is to take care of yourself.

2. Don’t Let Things Slide

You cannot live life on the attack. If someone makes a rude comment, the best thing to do is to distance yourself from that person rather than ‘winning a social victory.’

While it can be tempting to do so, and you should defend yourself, sometimes it’s just not worth it. But the major things or the things that don’t sit right with you should be acted upon.

Let’s say that your boss touches you at the Christmas party, perhaps inappropriately. He might be drunk, and so might you, but it’s not your responsibility to shrug this off and forget about it if he/she continues to make you feel uncomfortable, no matter how awkward that might be.

Visiting HR or making your experience public could be the best means of defending yourself should this issue happen because taking care of yourself is almost always intimately tied with self-defense in this regard.

3. Feel Yourself

What are you proud of yourself for? What challenges have you overcome this week? Where are you doing well, or at least moving in a direction that you care for?

When you actually give  yourself the credit you’re due, you become your own hype man or woman. This is important, because not everyone will do that for you.

With this advice, we hope you will find the empowerment you deserve.
